SCHOOL TRIVIA: The school colors of PURPLE & GOLD were chosen in the 1920-1921 school year by a committee of students including Gus Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Lee Schmalbeck, and James Weatherman. The EAGLE was chosen as the school's mascot in 1931 after a contest where a member of each class chose a mascot to speak on in front of the student body. Boone Murriett's presentation on the EAGLE was so impressive that the student body voted the EAGLE as the school's official mascot!

Eads has a tremendous success rate in their athletic programs including holding the state record for the most state basketball titles held by a school, being one of few schools to win two state basketball championships in the same year, and having the only coach in Colorado to win two state championships on the same night in 2003. Eads High School is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association and governs their extra-curricular activities according to CHSAA rules and regulations.
